Privacy Policy — JustAssessed

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Data Scientist Guy, LLC d/b/a JustAssessed (“we,” “us”) collects, uses, and discloses personal information of visitors and customers, and describes the rights of California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, “CCPA”).

2. Personal information we collect

We collect only what we need to deliver the service:

Property address of the property you want analyzed — including the address you type into the address-verification box on our home page, before any purchase — and the public property facts we look up from it (parcel number, assessed value, characteristics, sale history).
Email address, to deliver your packet, send receipts, and provide support.
Payment information processed by Stripe. Stripe collects and processes your card details directly; we receive limited confirmation data (transaction ID, last four digits, billing ZIP) and never see or store your full card number.
Intake details you choose to give us: your name, parcel number, purchase price and date, notes about the property's condition, and any assessment-notice photo or document you upload.
Automatically collected technical data such as IP address, device/browser type, and usage/analytics data via cookies and similar technologies (see §3).
Browser storage. Our pages store two small values in your browser's local storage: the address you verified (so you don't have to retype it after checkout) and a flag that prevents double-counting a purchase in analytics. These stay on your device; you can clear them any time via your browser settings.

3. What we collect, why, and who receives it

Sources: directly from you; automatically from your device; and public records and third-party data providers used to build the analysis (property facts, comparable sales).

The third parties we currently use, and what each one gets:

Stripe — payment processing. Receives your card details, email, billing address, and the property address you enter at checkout.
Radar — address autocomplete on our home page. Receives the address text you type there, as you type it, in order to return matching real addresses. This happens before you buy anything.
Tally — the intake form after checkout. Receives everything you enter there, including any file you upload.
Google Analytics 4 — website measurement (visits, which buttons were clicked, purchases). Sets cookies and receives a pseudonymous identifier and your IP address. We do not send it your name, email, or property address.
Umami — privacy-focused website analytics. Receives anonymized visit data such as page URL, referrer, browser, operating system, device type, and coarse location derived from IP. It does not use cookies for tracking and we do not send it your name, email, or property address.
Google Ads — advertising measurement, where we run ads. Lets us see which ads led to orders.
Our waitlist form provider — receives your email address and your property's ZIP code if you ask for a deadline reminder. We use the ZIP only to work out which of California's two appeal deadlines applies to you, so the single reminder we send you is the right one.
Our hosting and email providers — deliver the website and our emails to you.

4. How we use personal information

To provide, deliver, and support the service and process payments.
To communicate with you about your order and respond to requests.
To send the single deadline reminder you asked for, if you joined the waitlist.
To operate, secure, and improve our website and service, and to measure which marketing channels work.
To comply with law and enforce our Terms.

We do not use your property address or other personal information for purposes incompatible with those disclosed above without notice.

5. We do not sell your personal information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We disclose personal information only to the service providers listed in §3, who process it on our behalf, and only as needed to provide the service or comply with law. We do not send your name, email address, or property address to advertising platforms.

We do use Google Analytics 4 and, where we advertise, Google Ads. Under the CCPA's broad definition, analytics and advertising cookies can amount to “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If you would rather we didn't, email hello@justassessed.com and we will honor the request, and you can also block these with any standard browser or extension-based ad/analytics blocker or by enabling Global Privacy Control.

6. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above — to deliver the packet, provide support, keep tax/accounting and transaction records, and comply with legal obligations — and then delete or de-identify it. Order records are retained for 4 years for tax and audit purposes.

7. Your California privacy rights

Subject to verification and legal exceptions, California residents may:

Know / access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, purposes, and the categories of recipients.
Delete personal information we collected from you.
Correct inaccurate personal information.
Opt out of sale/sharing — see §5.
Limit use of sensitive personal information — we do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CCPA.
Non-discrimination — we will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.

8. How to exercise your rights

Email hello@justassessed.com with the subject “California Privacy Request.” We verify your identity (typically by confirming control of the email address associated with your order) before responding, and we respond within the timelines the CCPA requires — generally acknowledging within 10 business days and responding within 45 days, extendable once. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request with proof of authorization.

9. Children

The service is for property owners and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16, and we do not sell or share the personal information of minors.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect personal information — for example, HTTPS encryption in transit and reliance on Stripe's PCI-compliant payment handling. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Third-party services and links

Our service relies on the third parties listed in §3, each of which processes information under its own privacy policy. Our site may link to third-party sites we do not control. Review their policies before providing information.
